OUR BUSINESS
The total domestic wood pellet production in 2021 was 1.96 million tons, of which the self-sufficiency rate using domestic wood was only 17.2%. In the same year, the amount of wood fuel used by domestic RPS registered facilities was 3.04 million tons, of which the domestic self-sufficiency rate was 5.4%.
Accordingly, public power plants have decided not to use imported wood pellets starting in 2025, and the Korea Forest Service is also pushing to lower the REC weight for imported wood pellets.
ECO-HOPIA is replacing imported wood pellets by producing bio-solid fuels with lower heat generation of more than 4,000 kcal. Bio-solid fuel has a REC weight of 1.0 and is expected to completely replace domestic wood pellet demand for power generation in the long term.
Carbon dioxide and by-products are produced in the process of treating organic waste resources through aerobic microbial decomposition. However, ECO-HOPIA recycles those carbon dioxide and byproducts to produce liquid carbon and bio-solid fuels that can be used across industries.
ECO-HOPIA is growing into a sustainable eco-friendly energy company based on carbon emission rights and lower energy consumption compared to other processes through greenhouse gas collection and utilization.
